Jewellery Trends 2019
With every coming year (and season) people flock to runways all over the world to appreciate, and catch a sneak peek, of the season’s latest trends in clothes, shoes, and of course- jewellery. Jewellery trends have tended to take a back seat when it comes to fashion but recently, designers and everyday consumers have realized that wearing trendy jewellery can make or break your outfit. Here are some jewellery trends of 2019 as seen on runways in Paris, New York and London.
Mixing multiple chains and pendants of varying length and thicknesses are a great trend in 2019. Even creating a more ‘messy look’ looks sophisticated with a simple t-shirt and jeans. This trend is a great way to dress-up simple outfits.
Seashells and Pearls
Seashell bracelets, rings and pendants give outfits a beachy, laid back vibe. Pearls have also made a comeback and look really classy hanging from your ears in small clusters or just as studs. Mixing pearls and gold jewellery makes for a really eye-catching combination suitable for both day and night looks.
Hoops are those staple pieces of jewellery that will never go out of style but hoops- especially the chunky gold kind- have seen a sort of revival. Both real gold and costume jewellery hoops can be paired with almost anything but are a staple in everyday office looks or for a night on the town. A definite this season!
Body chains, anklets, arm cuffs and precious metal belts are this year’s must have items! While less “mainstream” for the average consumer, body jewellery is that sort of statement piece that will never go unnoticed at the beach or a party. Go for more dainty delicate chains or switch it up with chunky pieces depending on your outfit or just what you’re feeling on the day.
Layered ear piercings and earrings
Even more conservative customers are opting for this trend. Multiple piercings (and the perfect earrings to go with them) are a lot of fun for many people as you can start with one or two and slowly work your way up to even more adventurous and eye-catching piercings that are very personalized. Cartilage piercings have especially made a comeback as well as celestial themed jewellery. Decorate your ears with moons, stars and planets for an ‘out of this world’ look!
Silver had its limelight mostly in the early 2000’s but in the current decade, gold chunky jewellery has seen a comeback on runways and in jewellery stores. Older style jewellery like this can really dress-up and outfit and give that 90’s retro feel which is also really popular.
Charms were a 90’s-kid sort of jewellery and were never seen as mainstream pieces for the everyday consumer. In the past few years however, mainstream jewellery brands and shops have caught onto the special personalized bracelet and necklace trend. A charm bracelet makes a great gift for a loved one because of its unique personalized characteristic.
