Victorinox Watches – A Brand Review

Victorinox was established 130 years ago and has since built a name for itself as the premier provider of Swiss army knives. Core to the brand’s success is its focus on quality and innovation.

And it has mainlined these focuses in its expansion into new products, including a line of watches that embody the marriage of design and function.

Despite the many changes in the Victorinox brand, some things remain the same, namely, its emphasis on quality products that are practical, innovative and iconic. These pillars are arguably best represented in the brand’s line of timepieces.

We’ll take a closer look at the newest addition to the Victorinox family, the I.N.O.X. line of watches.

Durability and mechanical precision

Victorinox is synonymous with Swiss precision. And given the brands 130 years of working with metal and mechanics, watchmaking was the natural next step. And fortunately for us all, they took it.

Victorinox products are built to stand the test of time. In the words of the Victorinow brand, “With the I.N.O.X., we have made the measurement of time practically indestructible.”

While all of the brand’s products are durable, the I.N.O.X. is in a league of its own. And to prove that fact, the brand applied 130 tests to the product. The product was the fruit of four years of conceptualisation, three years of design, and six months of rigorous testing. What other brands can demonstrate that level of commitment to a single product?

Testing included a ten-metre drop (the equivalent of the three-storey building), eight-ton pressure resistance, vibration resistance, and torsion and track resistance.

Unrelenting style

Given its technical prowess, one might assume that the I.N.O.X won’t be much to look at. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

While the I.N.O.X is tough, it’s also elegant. This piece will fare equally well on a mountainside and in a boardroom.

Its body gleams with the stainless stell the brand is so well known for. (Non-rusting stell, which the brand is synonymous with, is known as “inox”.)

The I.N.O.X. is available in a range of different colours and styles. In the “Autumn Spirit” design, the gleaming, dark brown face sports Arabic numbers at 3, 6 and 9. The design is rounded off with a woven paracord strap of brown and olive green.

The classic I.N.O.X. is available in a range of colours, and options for the strap. We just love the I.N.O.X in the classic Victorinox red. With silver dials to match the sleek stainless steel body, and a genuine rubber strap, this piece certainly pairs function and design.

And what else could one possibly hope for in a timepiece? If you are interested in purchasing a Victorinox watch, make sure you visit a certified seller of these premier Swiss products.
